Let’s put this knowledge to good use! Below are books that are loaded with tips and advice on how to make the most of your brains natural tendencies and how to muscle up the ones that could use some help.
For the left brainers out there, Daniel H. Pink has compiled a comprehensive guide in his book A Whole New Mind: Why Right-brainers Will Rule the Future to help understand the seemingly chaotic world of right brain thinking. Daniel explains that there are six key right brain characteristics: design, story, symphony, empathy, play and meaning. He then goes on to give great exercise on how left brainers can cultivate these characteristics within themselves.
For the right brainers out there, there’s a whole collection of books! Each one focused on a different left brain topics like career management, time management and organizing all from the focus of how a right brained person thinks. The author of these books, Lee Siber, has gone where surprisingly few others have dared to go. There’s no shortage of tips for these topics out there, but they’re all geared towards the left brainers of the world. That’s why as hard as right brainers try they just don’t work. Lee Sibers books have delivered tips for tackling the issues that right brainers can actually use and stick with.
Now that you’ve got all the tools to better understand and use your brainpower, tell me, how did you use them? Do you have any other ideas or resources that you’ve come across that have helped you explore the other side of the brain?
Meditation is a funny subject. For some it invokes a feeling of peace and tranquility that it is meant to, while others get anxious and defeated with just the mention of the word meditation. A lot of the perception behind what someone feels about meditation comes from what they know about it. So let’s take a deeper look into what meditation is and what benefits it can offer.
For the right brainers in the group the Deepak Chopra video will explain how meditation can be a powerful tool for transformation. The left brainers will enjoy getting a better understanding of how meditation can increase focus and decrease anxiety in the short video called The Scientific Power of Meditation.
Has your interest in meditation been peaked? Want to give it a try? As a bonus, I've added one of Deepak Chopra's videos on how to get started.
